Why You Should Just Get Started

Getting started with a new writing project idea can be so hard. You have to find a way to take the characters and stories that float around your brain while you wash your dishes, and commit them to paper. Or screen.

Getting started can be hard. But, it doesn’t have to be. Truly, I find that the hardest part of getting started is not the idea but reserving the time out of your day to sit down and do it.

Do you feel this way? Do you put off a creative project for “tomorrow” or “the weekend” or “when you have more time”?

Don’t wait any longer. There will never be more time, because chances are you will end up filling whatever free time you have with other activities. I know that’s what I do.

That’s why you have to schedule the time, if you want to start something, put it on your calendar and then sit down and do it.

There will never be a perfect time to start, so just start.

That’s what my 1:1 coaching helps with, too. You want to start something? I give you the tools, the guidance, and the accountability to see your dream turn into a project that you’re making progress on.

In 6 weeks, I’ll help you turn your idea into a plan, and together we’ll set you up for success so there will be no more wishful tomorrows, and instead happening todays. You’ll have that someday-short-story or one-day-novel committed to paper.
